Parish Mission 2004 theme

The St. Ambrose Parish Mission took place from the 12th to the 20th June 2004.
What the Mission could mean for YOU
If you are a practising Catholic
It is an opportunity for renewal
If you are not a pratising Catholic
It is an opportunity for reconciliation with Christ
If you are a member of another church
It is an opportunity to hear Christ’s message in a new way
If you are searching for an answer to the meaning and purpose of life
It is an opportunity to find out if Christ’s message is for you
For all
It is an opportunity to share in the fellowship of Christ

Dear Friend,

I extend to you a warm invitation to share in our Parish Mission, which takes place from Saturday 12th June to Sunday 20th June 2004.

Our Mission occurs right in the middle of summer - a time of sunshine, we hope. The time of the longest day, when there is more light than at any other time of the year.

My hope is that our Parish Mission will be a time of light also for our parish. My wish is that the home visits, the Mission services, the support and interest of parishioners, will help us all to experience in anew way God’s love for us, and inspire us to respond to it in our lives by using our gifts, talents and opportunities to share his love with others.

All the details of the Mission programme can be found here and on the day pages. The Mission will be led by members of the Sion Community. www.sioncommunity.org.uk

The first half of the week from Sunday afternoon to Tuesday evening is devoted to visiting. Team members will visit in pairs throughout the parish. These visits can be highly beneficial as they enable parishioners to speak about their faith in private and to receive encouragement on their faith journey.

I look forward to seeing you at the Mission Services.

God bless you.

Fr Geoff O’Grady

Parish Priest

Please help in any way you can, particularly by saying the Parish Mission Prayer for its success.

St.Ambrose Parish Mission Prayer.

  • Loving God, you are the wisdom and light that will never grow dim.
  • We your children come to you to praise you and request your help.
  • By the power of your Holy Spirit,
  • open our ears and hearts to your voice.
  • Deepen our trust in you,
  • and help us know your infinite love for us.
  • May our lives be a beacon of your love.
  • Give us the strength and courage to share
  • this love with others wherever we may be.
  • We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
